Slacking from 28th Jul to 1st Aug 2008 =)

My professional attachment has ended and now I could finally rest for a few days before school commences again. I did gain the operational side of hotel experience and invaluable intangible lessons. One could never ask for more I guessed. Although my internship stint has ended, I kept myself useful by tidying up my room filled with my sis's stuff. I emphasized again, its her stuff! Since she moved house last year, her items are still left in my room leaving it for dust to settle on it. Hence, I got to clear all her unused textbooks, papers, files and etc. Its such a tedious task that my whole afternoon is burnt. My efforts are not gone to waste seeing that my room looks so spick and span now. =) I think my schedule is going to get worst once Aug kicks in as I am going to work part time in Singapore Heritage Centre located at Lakeside, attending school for two full days, teaching piano for two days and impending Final Year Project (FYP). Hopefully, I will not get drained out by the end of this year. When one is not as affluent as others, life gets harder to earn money for univesity fees. A whopping $19 500 plus debt is going to come after me once I graduate next year Apr. Better earn more money to save or else, I would not know how I am going to clear it.

Days at Shang.. =)

Me, Stacie (she's back@ Switzerland), Ono-san

Although it has ended, somehow i do missed my ex-colleagues at Shang. Some were really nice to me and I thanked them for the happy times spent especially in the Concierge. Hopefully, my career choice will still be in Hospitality line but then, my decision may swayed as I am still currently looking at other options. Air stewardess could be another alternative or airline companies as I wish to explore other areas. Having worked in the hotel industry for almost one and a half yrs, despite the long hrs, its the satisfaction tt you gained after a long day. I guessed, not many careers offer this kind of satisfaction when you are able to receive guests' feedback about your work and attitude. For me, I prefer jobs that enable me to travel as I love to see the world and experience different cultural diversity. lol. anyway, I am looking forward to a buffet treat @ The Line in Shang by my HR Mgr. haha~ he is being forced by my two fellow interns and me to treat us. poor thing.~

Genting Trip 21st ~ 23rd July 2008

Eating@Yong Peng market..the chicken rice was nice!

At the top of the themepark...

Posing! haha! the view is fabulous!

Trying to get a glimpse of the water fountain behind us..

Water ride

Go Kart View

I look stupid man in the Go Kart.

Awaiting for our turn to try the Go Kart!

Space Shot - it looks scary! What a pity tt we did not try out!

Needed Energizer Man to energize myself for the rides!

Entrance of the Theme Park

Chanced upon Doraemon outside one of the shops. Could not resist not to take pic with it! I adore Doraemon! Its soo cute!

Five Stars COach - good or bad choice?

AS usUal - Zhi Lian!

The Genting trip was great!esp the theme park. It was thrilling and I loved it. A gush of adrenaline and shouting at the top of my voice was exhilarating. After my internship, this was what i needed - to feel great during my trip! Absolutely relaxed and carefree... The downside is tt the food wasnt really cheap over there and we spent quite a substantial amt on food expenses .With a glutton like me, I doubted we could save on food too. My dear was not an exception too. haha~ We watched The Dark Knight - Batman movie and we got got a great deal out of it.WE bought the PREMIUM seats coupled with free popcorns, drinks and snacks. @ RM18. The movie portrayed Batman to be vulnerable, and i felt its very realistic as he couldnt possibly be invincible always. Men are not infallible too. The whole trip was a great experience except for the trip back. The driver drove too fast until we feel like puking. =(

This marks the day of our one yr anniversary and I am glad we are still as loving as before. We went to Mezebar with dear's friends @ Meritus Mandarin Hotel. This place is really COOL and COSY (2C's) and I love this place. Its a great chill out place with friends! The cocktails and alcoholic beverages are unique in a sense tt their Lychee Martini is served in a teapot with their lychee placed in a small saucer. Dear, thanks for being so sweet to dedicate a love song to me! I am touched and hope our love will be everlasting. I will never forget it. Its called 'Endless Love'. =)

Nihon Mura & Night Safari Outing..=)

Night Safari

Its a real pity that my Nikon camera is in repair hence, was unable to capture the animals in Night Safari. =( As usual, I am always looking out for great deals to grab. Typical auntie. haha~ I went to sign up for the Passion Card at one of the community centres as they are currently having a promotion. The membership is $10 for three years and once you signed up, you can choose from either 1) 1 comp Night Safari admission ticket, 2) 1 comp Zoological ticket or 3) Fila Bag. I helped my dear to sign up too and we chose the night safari tixs since its more worthwhile as the admission tickets alone is $22. Ours is $10 only! save $$! Along the night safari has been around for quite some time, I am embarrassed to mention that this is my first visit there.
The setup and the ambience of the Night Safari is similar to the "Survival" show concept. I felt that it was nicely done up and the tram ride was enjoyable as you are able to enjoy the cool breeze, the forest trail and etc. And the best highlight would be the special shows they had at certain timings of the night. I think without its accompaniment , the whole Night Safari night experience would not be that complete. Sad thing is I could not really see the animals well in the dark although Night Safari experience is all about " Seeing them in different light". Nevertheless, my dear presence with me heightened my overall Night Safari experience. Thanks dear for accompanying me despite that you do not really like the smell of the Zoo. ~~

Nikon Mura

It was a delicious and satisfying Japanese buffet for me @ Nikon Mura with my uni friends (Hui Yun and Sabrina). Personally, I preferred it to Sakae Sushi (the "green frog") although it was my first time there. Their presentation of food was awesome and most importantly, their salmon did not come with rice so I had numerous plates of salmon alone. On top of that, they served us one glass of complimentary watermelon juice and subsequently, free flow of various chilled juices and green tea which you can choose from. The food was piping hot unlike Sakae Sushi whereby sometimes, their food has already turned cold. Their Chawamushi and the potato croquette was delicious . Overall, thumbs up for such a good deal buffet! its about $17nett for students and its really worthwhile. yummy...=) I just want to mention Hui Yun's huge appetite. She can be my good kakee for buffet next time as she can really eat alot! My gosh, she is even better than me! haha~ Hui Yun ~ there goes your diet plan ever since you have mentioned it months ago. ~

Politics. I detest it.

Today I had a bad day. A real bad one which left me thinking the working world is really deceiving and dark. Everyone's faces seems so angel when they talk to you but behind their masks, its all plotting against you trying to make you feel helpless at times. I dont deny, it has affected me substantially and nothing could explain how i really feel. I hate this awww feeling. Did i trust people too easily? Or i was just plain naive? I felt stupid. I dread going to work now. Its a complex feeling tt I have never experienced b4. All along, I thought I could handle work politics, but this incident has kept me more vigilant. My colleague told me its all up to how you perceived it and what you are going after. 1)A simple job = do your tasks dutifully everyday and dont ever think of promotions! 2) A job with responsibilities and higher salary = be involved and play politics. that's the way to a higher promotion! Its true to a certain extent of what he said. Occasionally, pacing your life a bit slower might not be a bad idea after all. A kampong life could be one. Simple yet able to experience the nature of life which you cant obtain it in a city dweller life. However, not everyone is ready for it. Me? I not prepared too.
