Job confirmation! Horray!

These past weeks i have been having sleepless nights, worrying for my job especially in this recession period. Words could not express how much fears I had with me and my hair seems to be dropping drastically for almost 2 months. I had went for several interviews such as CPF, Citispa & MOM for the past two weeks. Upcoming one would be tmr for WDA. Well, I never thought myself to be applying for the civil service sector as I always believe that private sectors have more opportunities out there. However, at this point of time, I cannot afford to to selective. =( Today marks the end of my insomnia as I have got a confirmation call from MOM after 2 rounds of intense interviews with them. I was elated as I thought that my chances of getting in was slim. Thanks to God for the blessings.Nevertheless, its only a verbal confirmation and subsequent documentation coupled with medical checks are still due for approval. Pay wise has not been divulged by them so hopefully, everything will go smoothly and I will most probably start work between mid to end Apr. =) A confirmed job means I can get to go for my grad trip soon if time permits me to do so...!!

25 things you may never know about me..

Got this from Facebook and decided to pen it down:

25 things you may never know about me –Facebook
1. The no. 1 thing boggling in my mind right now is not able to find a job in this recession. I need $!!
2. I love shopping and shopping therapy never fails to perk me up whenever I am down.
3. I am a fave collector of perfume bottles and miniatures. Have countless bottles of miniatures. MY favourite brand of fragrance is Escada as I love sweet and fruity scents. (Adore Moon Sparkle from Escada!)
4. I am selective on certain types of vegetables to eat. On the other hand, I love to eat cocktail sausages that are sold in NTUC!!
5. I cannot live without chillies. Loves tom yam soup and spicy stuff.
6. I always enjoy buffets especially those that offer student buffets (eg, Sakae) and steamboat buffets. I used to be a huge-eater but has tamed down a lot as I grow older.
7. I like Fann Wong for 12 years as I feel she is pretty and bring out the clothes that she wears.
8. I am obsessed with good eye-creams and takes pride in caring for my eyes since I am born with dark eye circles. Strongly advocates in prevention for eye wrinkles too.
9. I am always trying to lose weight.
10. I never enjoy playing strategic games like sun guo yan yi. Prefers fighting games, puzzle bubble, guess the differences and colour games that can be found in arcades.(no-brainer games!)
11. I can never be a food gourmet as I am easily contented with most types of food. Almost everything that I put in my mouth tastes good to me.
12. I regretted not studying hard in UNI to obtain good grades/honours. Now, I cant even get into public sectors as they emphasized very much on academic excellence.
13. I am 1.76m in height. Used to hate it as I find it rather hard to find a bf. (Well now, I cant lament as I found mine=)
14. People who do not know me well enough might find me unapproachable. Once they know me, they know I can be very lame and noisy at times.
15. I can talk non-stop on the phone. My bf is marveled at how much stuff I can talk with him. It’s a must for me to say goodnight to him every night.
16. I enjoy celebrating XMAS as it’s a time of sharing and giving to your loved ones/friends.
17. I dislike Starfruit juice, carrot drinks and drinks that are gaseous in nature which makes you burp.
18. I love hawker food and do not really fancy fine dining as I feel that it is over-priced and portions are small.
19. I love my Grandma alot. Hope she lives to a ripe old age and always stay by my side. I have a god-mum and she has taken care of me a lot since young. I hope to earn lots of $$ to be able to give her a good life in the future.
20. My mum’s home-baked pineapples tarts are the best in the world! I do not eat those that are sold outside except hers.
21. I love travelling and hope to be an air stewardess if possible to explore the different destinations.
22. I love exiting rides and am game for outdoor activities that drive my adrenaline going.
23. I adore babies as I find them very cute and innocent. Hope to be able to bear a pair of twins just like myself.
24. I love to watch comedy, romance and fighting movies.
25. I prefer simplicity in life. My life revolves mainly around my family, bf, his family and my friends.

The singer from the live band which my sis has engaged.
My grandma.. she's dressed in nyonya costume..love her..

A poem goes this way: Roses are red, .................

Everyone was given a teddy bear =) Its really cute..

Memories that last a lifetime for a woman would be her very own wedding. AS for men, they would find it a hassle as the limelight is mostly placed on the bride. True to a certain extent as ladies always want to be at their prettiest on the big day... My sis is not an exception either as she tried to take lots of bird's nest and tonics to purify her complexion to make it glowing before her big day. She also took up kickboxing classes and went on a diet to maintain her slim figure. Guys, that's all the hard work behind a pretty face and figure for you to admire and ogle at.

Her wedding is officially on 1 Jan 2009 and it is held at Marina Mandarin Hotel. The hotel ballroom was grand and the decor is nevertheless, impressive. There are approximately 420 guests who attended and it was an exciting day for Ivan and me on being the MCs for the first time. The wedding began with the usual customary traditions of tea ceremony followed by a cocktail reception and lunch. Above are the snapshots taken:

"Not Just a Lonely Christmas"--- Season 1

2B13 gals... keep the friendship going ya!
Long-ge said we are the prettiest girls he has ever seen in all the parties that he has attended!!
The contestants ranging from M1 to M7-- All of them putting on their best smiles for the camera.. Extreme left: Jason(Sharon's hubby), Jeff, Huiliang, Fadly, Ivan (my dear), Melvin (Ling Zi's bf) & Long-ge

Remainder of 2B13 -- like this photo alot. *sweet*

All thanks to WRTS for organising the Xmas party which was held at Bukit Batom Home Team Chalet. And of course not forgetting Eliza for being the co-host for the night with Jenn. I felt so fortunate to have such nice friends around me making the effort to maintain the friendship. Thumbs up! =) Keep the SP Spirit alive!

IT was a night of wisdom, wit, fitness and popularity competing for the award "Most Valuable Man!" amongst the guys. The guys put on a tough fight and the emerged winners for the respective categories were:

  • Fadly won the 'Test of Wisdom' in Round 1
  • Jeff won the 'Test of Wit'
  • It was a tie between Fadly and Ivan for the 'Test of Fitness' and.....
  • It was a surprise win for Ivan in the 'Popularity Category' --Guessed he kind of pull in the votes during the Fitness Test. =) Proud of you my dear! At least, you won something lar.. haha~
After the countdown of Christmas at 12am, the night began with many kinds of games which Taboo seems to be the most popular. Everyone drank to their fullest and Jeff had somehow met his match in his 'naggy' character when he is drunk --Ivan! I suppose if you were to put these 2 drunkards together for the whole night, they can talk anything under the sun under the next morning sets in.

This year Christmas is indeed interesting yet enjoyable at the same time. Personally, I always look forward to the gift exchanges as it is just so exciting to know what you be getting for in exchange. Once again, thanks WRTS for the great efforts!! =)

Pink Pool Party. Cool!

Joyce's hubby was the one of the co-organiser for this Pink Pool Party held at Scotts Orchard Residence. It is really a posh location and the decor was really akin to that of a 5-star hotel. It must have cost quite a bomb to have rented one of the apartments there and it would be a blessing to own one. =) The food was quite nice and we did not even need to spend a single cent at all! It was because this event was a stepping stone for the organisers to try out for other events in the future as event organisers. This was their business idea cum xmas party gathering.. sounds cool ya as everything was coated in pink too!

Xmas Dinner@ M Hotel

Yvonne is sad... haha~

It was another time of the year for a great gathering-- Xmas Dinner! I have always embrace the month of December as it is filled with joy, surprises and xmas presents exchange. I met up with my 4 gal besties and as usual, Gladys is always the butt of the jokes. She should be awarded the 'WORST' giver of the day.. We told her the gift exchange was betwen $15 to $20 and she forgotten the amount and bought a $12 gift coupled with 2 small boxes of chocolates bought at Watsons on that day. haha~to make it sound better, she kept emphasising that the chocolates were very nice.. ok gal, we still adore you for being so funny!=) We were hoping not to get Glady's present though and you can tell from Yvonne's face expression that she's really sad to get it.*gee*
